Getting started with Shops and the Market

Here we will outline the basics about creating chest shops for other players to buy from or sell to. We will also be giving a brief rundown about the XCraft Market.

Market Guidelines

These guidelines are in place to keep the markets fair and safe for all. Guidelines marked with a star (*) can potentially result in a ban from the server depending on the severity of the offense.

1. No Scamming*: Dishonest or predatory sales practices can result in the removal of your market privileges.
2. Item Stock & Removal Periods: You must keep your shop sufficiently stocked. Plots that have not been sufficiently stocked and whose owner has not been online for two weeks will be removed with no refund to the shop owner. Inactivity extensions are available by request to the staff team.
3. Empty Plots: Plots must have a build and shops (not just chest, advertisement, etc.) within 5 days of purchase or be subject to termination without refund.
4. Plot Limits: You are only allowed to own and operate ONE plot at a time. Selling items on other plots is allowed, but the majority of shops on that plot must belong to the plot owner. Only the shop owner's item stock and inactivity will be considered when determining if the shop meets removal criteria.
5. SFW Builds*: All builds must be SFW (Safe For Work) and not of a controversial or inappropriate nature. Failure to adhere to this rule can result in immediate termination of your market privileges and a ban.
6. Forced Price Gouging, Scalping, & Undercutting*: Buying the entire stock of competing shops and selling the items at your own shop for inflated or deflated prices is prohibited. This and other predatory market tactics can result in the termination of your market privileges.
7. Littering*: Releasing animals, water, lava, or any items, entities, or blocks in the market to cause a disruption of normal operations is prohibited. Doing so can result in the termination of your market privileges.
8. Contacting Staff:  Do not contact members of the staff regarding requests to have a market plot owned by you or another player to be removed. Staff members will remove market plots on a regular basis and do not need to be notified regarding this.
9. Loopholes or Grey Areas: The market guidelines are subject to change should the need present itself. Using a loophole or grey area is prohibited. If the action in question is questionable in accordance with these guidelines, create a support ticket on Discord to get clarification before proceeding with the action.

General Shop Guidelines

Many of the market guidelines apply for any shop you make outside of the market. Scamming, gouging, scalping, undercutting, and NSFW (Not Safe For Work) builds are all examples of what not to do regardless of where you set up shop anywhere in any of the worlds.

Creating and Managing Chest Shops

Now that we have the guidelines covered, let's learn the Chest Shop basics!

To create a Chest Shop, place down a chest and then while holding the item you wish to sell in your main hand, you can either:
1. Run the command /qs create <price>
2. Left click the chest and type the price in chat.

To change the shop type, run either command:
/qs buy - Switches a SELL shop to BUY
/qs sell` - Switches a BUY shop to SELL

You can also use these:
/qs item - While holding an item in your mainhand, this will change the item sold or bought to the item you're holding. After running command, click the sign or swap items to update the sign.
/qs remove - Removes the shop you're looking at.
/qs staff <option> <player> - Manages who can add or remove stock from a shop you're looking at. Options for the staff list: add and del will add or remove a player. list will display all staff. clear will remove all staff.
/qs find <query> - Searches all nearby shops containing the query. Hover your mouse over a result to see what the item is.
/qs suggestprice - Suggests a price for the shop you're looking at based on other shops with the same item.
